Our recommendation for determining the height of the handle for walking support: stand next to the dog in the position you will assume, let your arm hang. Measure the difference between your hand and the dog's back.
Our recommendation for harness fit on the dog: The harness MUST FIT SNUGLY to give you adequate support. If the chest measurements conflict with the weight measurements, use the chest measurements rather than the weight. If chest measurement is borderline, choose smaller rather than larger size unless you expect your dog to grow.

For proper handle measurement, the dog should be in the working position. Measure from the harness attachment point (a little above the elbow on the dog's side) to the handler's palm. The handler's arm should be comfortably held at a downward angle toward the dog.
Easy to put on and off. After a try or two, your dog will almost literally step into it. Non-chafing pads provide more comfort.
